When does Pothy come out?

Is the app free?

Yes. Adding plants, identifying them, care sheets, reminders, watering, the photo journal and cuttings are free, forever. No trial that asks for a credit card.

How does Pothy know when to water my plant?

It starts from the rhythm advised for the species, then asks you to touch the soil. Every “Watered” or “Still moist” tunes your plant’s own rhythm. When in doubt, it waits: an overwatered plant suffers more than a slightly thirsty one.

How do I identify a plant from a photo?

Take a picture: Pothy suggests the most likely species and shows its care sheet. If it gets it wrong, just type the name. A plant missing from the catalogue can be added by hand.

What is the family tree of cuttings?

When you take a cutting, Pothy links it to its mother plant. Generations later, and even once given away, every cutting knows where it comes from.

How do I give or swap a plant near me?

List it as a gift or a trade: people around you see it with a rough distance, never your address. You sort things out in the chat, and at the handover the plant changes gardens with its story. No money, just plants.

Is my plant toxic to my cat or dog?

Every care sheet says whether a plant is toxic to pets and children, and the “Toxic to pets” filter shows them all at once.

What happens to my photos and my data?

Your photos never disappear unless you confirm it, your location stays approximate, and you can download all your data whenever you like.

Which app can I use to manage my houseplants?
